Abstract

The article considers aspects of the impact of historical and architectural values on the modern environment. The main directions of the compositional development of historical cities are singled out depending on the specific town-planning situation. It is shown that the complex task must be solved and includes two main aspects: the development of the planning composition of the growing city and the methods of partial reconstruction of the historical structure, taking into account the environmental approach. The ways of extensive and intensive development of the city territory are shown. When analyzing the current state and trends in the formation of the cities studied, it is established that the methods of compositional harmonization of its planning structure depend on the choice of directions and the pace of development of the settlement. It is shown that the prospects for the growth of cities and the size of their historical and architectural heritage determine the nature of their composition and planning development, reflecting the principle of continuity and complication of planning structures.
