Abstract

Abstract. The article discusses student-centred education as a priority for development of modern education. Student-centred education is oriented to the development of individual abilities and capabilities of each participant in the educational process, involving the use of advanced pedagogical and information technology. Student-centred education creates an atmosphere of amiability, builds trust between participants in the educational process, and stimulates students to express their own thoughts. Student-centred situation is a mechanism for the implementation of student-centred lessons. The creation of a student-centred educational and pedagogical situation at the lessons, the situation of success is considered as an important pedagogical resource in achieving students' effective learning outcomes. Educational and pedagogical situation of success is interpreted as a purposeful combination of conditions in which it is possible to achieve the best results in learning (in particular, in foreign language classes). The situation of success is achieved only when a student himself/herself evaluates his/her result as a success. The article describes tested situations of success: the atmosphere of amiability, advancement, stimulation of students’ activity as a leading motivation of the proposed actions, hidden help, short expressive influence, pedagogical support, evaluation, and others. The article states that the situation of success is effective for all forms of work in foreign language classes. The implementation of this technique is relevant both for traditional and for the newest interactive methods in foreign language classes at pedagogical educational institutions. It is emphasized that with professionally selected materials and depending on the type of work, the situation of success in foreign language classes develops the ability to express opinions orally and in writing, work in a team, make independent decisions, solve problems constructively, etc.
