(PAN)ISLAMISM PRACTICE IN TURKISH CINEMA: THE CASE OF NATIONAL CINEMA

Abstract

National cinema, representations of religion in Turkish cinema collapsed carried through the idea of Islamism refers to the form. Therefore, the chronological course of Turkish Islamism has shown a parallel development. National Cinema consists of names such as Yücel Çakmaklı, Mesut Uçakan, İsmail Güneş, Mehmet Tanrısever, Metin Çamurcu, Salih Diriklik ve Nurettin Özel. National films in general can be classified in three periods: nationalist Cinema: The Beginning and the Classical Period (1970–1989), Islamist Cinema: Summit Period (1989–1995), Conservative Cinema: Recession Period (1995–2010).
