Abstract
Reconstruction of folklore and historical origins of children’s fairy tale «Speckled Hen» shows that it dates back to the ancient mythological-ritual complex, which is associated with the sacrament reproduction of the resurrection of the pagan deities, accompanied by laughter and joy. The final part of the ceremony was a destruction of this deity by tearing and his funeral (or burning), which is also accompanied by a laugh, and that seems paradoxical and illogical. To clarify this situation can refer to mythologeme about dismemberment of the First Man, by what the Universe had been arose. An analogue of the First Man in archaic myths was the Mundane (Golden) Egg. Breaking the Golden Egg in a fairy tale is a typological parallel of the dismemberment of the First Man, so, the destruction of Egg has also meant the creation of the World. This motif in our time manifested in the fact that Easter eggs we must break too. Therefore, the Mouse in the «Speckled Hen», which breaks the golden egg, is not a destroyer but the creator of the World. Mythological prototype of a fairy Mouse was Apollo with his creative abilities. Now it becomes clear why in the ritual of tearing and funeral deities everyone had laughing – his death meant the birth of the Universe.
