PASSENGER TRANSPORTATION: RELIABLE INFORMATION SUPPORT

Abstract
Under the conditions of post-industrial evolution, the traditional directions of transport systems improving (meeting demands of the population in passenger traffic, increasing the speed and comfort of passenger travel, ensuring the environment protection and the rational use of energy resources), the relevance of introducing the achievements of information technology in transport is added. In the period of transition to market relations, the transport problem of cities becomes acutely social and macroeconomic, and its solution requires modern approaches. It is necessary to take into account the external and internal factors of the transportation system, the diversity of the transport process in space, which determines its complex structure. Because of indissolubility of production and consumption processes there is a direct dependence on consumers, whose uneven demand needs ensuring a high level of quality and efficiency of transportation, their rational organization and management.
