PATH DEPENDENCE AND INSTITUTIONAL DETERMINANTS OF DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIAL CAPITAL IN UKRAINIAN LANDS

Abstract
The article discusses that the simplest forms of social capital appeared with the development of humanity in order to adapt to the turbulent environment. It is substantiated that the complication of economic relations required expansion of the range of trust, the opening of closed professional communities, changes in social values. It is noted that the scarce economy of the Soviet period contributed to the spread of a specific form of social capital – the blat that affected the distribution system of resources and goods created by the state. It is determined that the higher the asymmetry of information, the more important is the personal and minor role of the open social capital associated with the development of an inclusive society.
