GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS AND MAIN TRENDS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF RETAIL BUSINESS IN UKRAINE

Abstract
The article presents a general description and analyzes the main trends in the development of retail in Ukraine. The largest retail operators in key market segments are highlighted. Analyzed the dynamics of retail turnover in comparison with the wholesale, as well as the structure of retail turnover. It is concluded that the structure of retail trade is a clear indicator of the institutional problems of the domestic economy. The most important trends of the last years in the field of retail, in particular the steady growth in sales of goods under their own trademarks (private label) of network merchants and the active development of e-commerce, are noted.
