PATRIOTIC EDUCATION IN OSTAP MAKARUSHKA’S PEDAGOGICAL LEGACY

Abstract
The article highlights the views of O. Makarushka (1867–1931) on patriotic education of children and adolescents. The role of education, the importance of historical events and heroic acts of the past are revealed. These patriotic feelings later influence the character, the way of thinking and are reflected in actions. Personal development is impossible without assimilation of the national values of the past generations.
