Patriotism in the modern Azerbaijani poem

Abstract
The article consistently reveals the content of patriotism from the point of view of the Turkic national identity. It emphasizes the significance of the historical path traversed by the Turkic ethnos in shaping the ideas of Turkism and national unity of the Turkic peoples. The article also reveals the peculiarities of the poem genre in modern Azerbaijani literature. It emphasizes such feature as an appeal to historical facts and outstanding personalities. The creation of artistic images in poems is combined with the historical truth. Most poems reflect the authors’ individual opinions, tending to show the historical truth in the work.
