PECULIARITIES OF FUTURE LINGUISTS' PREPARING FOR RESEARCH ACTIVITY: US EXPERIENCE

Abstract
The essential characteristics of the research activity and the peculiarities of future linguists’ preparation for research activity in US experience are analyzed. The requirements for scientific and innovative orientation of graduates of US philological faculties are described. The basic methods of effective organization of research activity (research-based learning (RBL) and research-based teaching (RBT) are revealed. Four stages (initial, actual, search, reflexive and creative), forms of organization (scientific seminars, students forums, conferences, problem groups, scientific internships, scientific programs), types (essay, course paper, thesis, dissertation) and the means of supporting the research activities in American educational practice are described.
