PECULIARITIES OF IMPLEMENTATION OF MEDIA EDUCATION IN THE SCHOOLS OF CANADA: ONTARIO PROVINCE EXPERIENCE

Abstract

The article highlights the features of the introduction of media education in the institutions of secondary education in the province of Ontario. The curricula for schools on the availability of the media literacy component are analyzed. The general expectations from pupils are defined both at the initial and at the average level of media literacy. The article highlights the main steps of the Ministry of Education of Ontario, the Federation of Ontario Teachers to develop media literacy. There are eight key concepts which developed by the Media Literacy Association (AML) in the article.
