PECULIARITIES OF REGULATING COMPONENT OF HEARING IMPAIRMENTS ADOLESCENTS’ INTELLECTUAL POTENTIAL

Abstract

This article represents the results of theoretical analysis of the problem of structure and functioning of adolescents’ intellectual potential. Based on theoretical analysis it was determined that intellectual potential is a dynamic complex-structured personality formation of intellectual possibilities and resources, which determines the effectiveness of intellectual activity for solving difficult life’s problems. Intellectual potential has a complex structure and consists of two main components — intellectual and personality, each of which consists of a few components. Intellectual component consists of intensional, operational and structural components. Personality component of intellectual potential consists of motivational, emotional, estimating and regulating components. This article represents the results of experimental research of a regulating component of intellectual potential formation of hearing impairments adolescents. Research based on the comparative analysis of the results of three experimental groups: hearing, hard-of-hearing and deaf adolescents 12–15 years old. It was revealed that adolescents with hearing impairment (both hard-of-hearing and deaf) characterized by a tendency to development delay of the ability to personal self-regulation. This tendency manifests since fourteen years old, because of, for 12-years old and 13-years old adolescents was no find any differences at regulating component, but for 14-years old and 15-years old adolescents was found the difference between hearing and hearing impairment peers. Based on analysis of the peculiarities of self-regulation was revealed that it is typical for adolescents with hearing impairments a slow dynamic of forming the ability to adequate evaluation of the results of their own actions. It was opened that hearing impairment adolescents characterized by a low level formed of such personality traits as flexibility and independence of personal self-regulation.
