Journal Title: Przegląd Pediatryczny - Year 2010, Vol 40, Issue 4
Abstract
In recent years there has been intensive development of palliative medicine. Pediatric palliative care in Poland was established several years ago and differs in many respects from the care of adults. The article describes the differences between palliative care of children and adults, presents the organization of children’s hospices and how they function, as well as indications to include hospice care. Today, a form of home care for terminally ill children should be promoted as the most relevant to the needs of children and parents, and the most advantageous from the economic point of view.
