Penggunaan Pesan Nonverbal Mahasiswa Asing dalam Beradaptasi di Lingkungan Belajar: Studi kasus pada Mahasiswa Asing Kemitraan Negara Berkembang di Universitas Airlangga

Abstract
Language became the main obstacle for students. This study describes the use of nonverbal messages by foreign students in adapting at Airlangga University learning environment. The study explains that there are three forms of nonverbal messages used to communicate. First is the facial expressions, the second is the smile and the third is a stillness. non verbal Messages is done to be able to adapt in a learning environment that is socially different culture. The use of nonverbal messages used by foreign students demonstrate the functions of regulation, as well as interpersonal adaptation. Meanwhile, nonverbal behavior adapted in convergence and divergence. Using nonverbal messages as a means to adapt, foreign students can dampen conflicts over socio-cultural differences.
