PERCEPTIONS AND EXPECTATIONS OF POLICE CADETS ABOUT LEADERSHIP STYLE OF THEIR POLICE INSTRUCTORS AT POLICE SCHOOL

Abstract
In this article, 405 police cadets’ perception andd expectation of police school’s instructors’ leadership styles were examined by administrated surveys. This study focused on whether police school instructor showed transformational leadership or not. Police cadets perceived their instructors as more conservative and expected their instructors as less conservative, more independent, persuasive, progressive, academic, strrategic, open, controlled, tactical, enthusiastic, emphatic etc. Thus, police cadets expected more transformational leader type ınstructors in their schools. Recommendations were proposed at the end of the article.
