Performance of Scholarly Communications of LIS in Global Perspective: A Scientometric Assessment

Abstract
Paper deals with the scientometric analysis of scholarly communications of LIS in world level. Further study includes only top 25 countries of the world in terms of their performance in scholarly communications. Scopus database has been used for collection of data. The study analyses the extent of scholarly communications of LIS in terms of total scholarly communications, citable scholarly communications, and non-citable scholarly communications. Similarly, citations data has been analyzed in terms of total citations, self-citations, and revised citations for top 25 countries. Performances of top 25 countries have also been studied by h-index calculations. The United States and the United Kingdom has been found as top performers in scholarly communications of LIS in the global scenario
