Abstract

The article deals with the problems of development of the national press in the Crimean Autonomous Republic. The political factors that determined the basic tendencies of development of the periodical press are analyzed. Periodical Press of the Crimean Tatars, arisen in the last quarter of the XIX century, it has a rich history. An important stage in the national press history is connected with the Crimean Autonomous Republic, differing from the previous period, by government support and ideological censorship. The Soviet power established in the Crimea, carrying indigenization policy, special attention was given to the media. In the first half of the 1920th press is under pressure of the party bodies of the republic, which not only interfere with the controversy between newspapers and openly seek to establish strict censorship control. By the end of the 1930th the Crimean Tatars national newspapers as being national, experienced harsh censorship and were typical Soviet publications, conducting the ideological policies of the Party and the Soviet state in the region. These factors resulted in the lack of freedom of speech and pluralism of opinions in the periodical press, political criticism of the course in the socio-economic and cultural spheres, the substitution of national values class
