Perspectives of implementation of approaches of foreign language for specific purposes integrated teaching at technical university

Abstract

The article aims at highlighting perspectives of foreign language for specific purposes teaching using modern integrated teaching approaches being feasible way of intensification and optimization in teaching. Changes in foreign language for specific purposes teaching at non - linguistic university appeal to search for optimal methods and techniques, their application will promote mastering of advanced Business English among students. Professionally oriented teaching of foreign language is proved to be a great base for using integrated education at non - linguistic university, its main techniques are listed. Attention is paid to three related approaches: content - based second language instruction, content and language integrated learning, and immersion, also possibilities of their implementation at non – linguistic university are noted. Peculiarities of approaches are analyzed and arguments for advantages of the integrated teaching over the traditional professionally oriented teaching of foreign language are given. Possible challenges to integrated technologies application at technical university are considered. Perfect command of teacher’s foreign language with students is the priority. Proposals for integrated teaching implementation at economic university are examined, implementation terms are suggested. Practical application of integrated teaching imple¬mentation at technical university is offered and hints for combining the traditional professionally oriented teaching of foreign language and modern approaches of the integrated teaching are given. Best practices of using forms and modifications of for¬eign language for specific purposes teaching integrated education at technical university are promoted with the aim of teaching of internationally proficient specialists.
