Abstract
Article by Ryabchikova Natalia «Peter Solomatin: the ethnographer, the journalist,» contains information about the biographical data and scientific heritage of historian Peter Solomatin. The article presents a review of articles by a local journalist, analyzes the main directions of its research, education, scientific excursions and social activities. The author raises the issue of the need to preserve the research legacy of Peter Solomatin and to further study it by the researchers, taking into account its conclusions and proposals to preserve the historic face of the city and historical memory.
