PHARMACOGNOSTIC AND PHYTOCHEMICAL EVALUATION OF CARYOTA URENS LEAF
Journal Title: International Research Journal of Pharmacy (IRJP) - Year 2015, Vol 6, Issue 10
Abstract
Caryotaurens (Palmae) is native to India. This tree species has been of interest to researchers because it is a medicinal plant employed in the Indian indigenous system of medicine. Pharmacognostic standardization, physic-chemical evaluation of the leafs of Caryotaurens was carried out to determine its macro-and micro-scopical characters and also some insoluble ash and sulphated ash values, alcohol- and water-soluble extractive values were determined for phytochemical evaluations. Preliminary phytochemical screening was also done to detect different phytoconstituents. Microscopically, Leaf showed Lamina, midrib regions, stomata. Powder microscopy showed mesophyll region, pitted xylem vessels and paracytic stomata. TLC of petroleum ether and ethanol extract showed three spots using Hexane: Ethyl acetate (12:4) and three spot using Choloroform: Ethyl acetate (5:4). Phytochemically leaves exhibited phytosterols, Flavanoids, Tannin carbohydrates and phenolic compounds.

TABLET COATING TECHNIQUES: CONCEPTS AND RECENT TRENDS
Tablet coating is a common pharmaceutical technique of applying a thin polymer-based film to a tablet or a granule containing active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Solid dosage forms are coated for a number of reasons...
A REVIEW ON CHITOSAN-BASED HYDROGLES FOR THE DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM
Chitosan is a natural polymer obtained by deacetylation of chitin. It is biologically safe, non-toxic, biocompatible and biodegradable polysaccharide. Chitosan is a good candidate for site-specific drug delivery. Hydro g...
SYNTHESIS AND ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY OF TRIAZINOINDOLES
Several new 3,4-dihydro-4-oxo-1,2,4-triazino(4,5-a) indoles (3a-g) were synthesized string from ethyl substituted indole-2-carboxylates (1a-g) which were allowed to react with hydrazine hydrate (80%) in ethanol to furnis...
NOVEL ANALYTICAL METHOD FOR IMPROVEMENT OF AQUEOUS SOLUBILITY OF CANDESARTAN CILEXETIL USING CO-SOLVENCY APPROACH
The present study was aimed at improving the aqueous solubility of candesartan cilexetil, a poorly water soluble drug, using poly ethylene glycol (PEG) 400 as co-solvent. It was observed that use of 5 % PEG 400 as co-sol...
SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC METHOD FOR SIMULTANEOUS ESTIMATION OF EPERISONE HYDROCHLORIDE AND DICLOFENAC SODIUM IN SYNTHETIC MIXTURE
The present manuscript describes simple, sensitive, rapid, accurate, precise and economical spectrophotometric method for the simultaneous determination of diclofenac sodium and Eperisone hydrochloride in bulk and synthe...
