PHASE TRANSITION SIGNALS IN HEAVY ION COLLISIONS BY LATINO MODEL
Journal Title: ROMANIAN JOURNAL OF TECHNICAL SCIENCES - APPLIED MECHANICS - Year 2011, Vol 56, Issue 2
Abstract
LATINO Model is a semi-classical approach to simulate heavy ion collisions attaining qualitative and quantitative agreement with theoretical predictions and experimental results. Criticality signals have been obtained in this study where impact parameter and projectile energy are increased. Large density fluctuations are described by large values of the relative variance plotted in Campi Plots. Self-similarity in the critical region is signed by linear plots of Scaled Factorial Moments. These signatures are related to a liquid gas phase transition for nuclear matter. Also Excitation curves and Temperature plateau decrease with residual size in agreement with experimental results.

ON THE SOFT ROBOTICS CONSTITUTIVE LAWS
Soft robotics is a class of hard and soft robots that contain a rigid internal structure and nonrigid body parts. The elastic components consist of nanostructured materials which exhibit new features such as the echoes r...
GIMBALS FOR VECTOR CONTROL OF NERVA LIQUID MOTOR TRANSPORTERS
The team for space technology of UPB presents the project for achieving a proprietary orbital access launching system under the NERVA readiness opportunity. The NERVA vehicle is a readily available and low cost means to...
PREDICTION OF THE FORMING LIMIT CURVES USING GTN DAMAGE MODEL
In this paper, the forming limit curve of an AA6016-T4 sheet metal is constructed using Gurson-Tvergaard-Needleman (GTN), Marciniak-Kuczynski (M-K) and Modified Maximum Force Criterion (MMFC) models. The mechanical behav...
KINEMATIC DESIGN OF 3-RPSR PARALLEL MECHANISM FOR MOVABLE-DIE DRIVE MECHANISM OF PIPE BENDER
The authors have been developing a pipe bender which fabricates pipes of three-dimensional complex shapes from straight pipes based on the penetration bending method. This bender is composed of a movable die supported by...
PROBABILISTIC ASSESSMENT OF THE IMPACT OF STRAIGHTNESS TOLERANCES IN EN 1090-2 ON THE STABILITY DESIGN OF STEEL COLUMNS
This paper addresses a current, practical topic which has interesting implications for design practices and research in the steel construction industry: the impact of new, relaxed fabrication tolerances on the strength o...
