PHASE TRANSITION SIGNALS IN HEAVY ION COLLISIONS BY LATINO MODEL
Journal Title: ROMANIAN JOURNAL OF TECHNICAL SCIENCES - APPLIED MECHANICS - Year 2011, Vol 56, Issue 2
Abstract
LATINO Model is a semi-classical approach to simulate heavy ion collisions attaining qualitative and quantitative agreement with theoretical predictions and experimental results. Criticality signals have been obtained in this study where impact parameter and projectile energy are increased. Large density fluctuations are described by large values of the relative variance plotted in Campi Plots. Self-similarity in the critical region is signed by linear plots of Scaled Factorial Moments. These signatures are related to a liquid gas phase transition for nuclear matter. Also Excitation curves and Temperature plateau decrease with residual size in agreement with experimental results.

ANALYSIS OF TRAFFIC NOISE FROM A MAIN ROAD CROSSING A CITY
The impact of road traffic on the environment is practically determined by a calculation procedure. Reliable calculation results require reliable sources determination. The theme of this study was to prepare the noise ma...
SIZE EFFECT ON STIFFNESS AND PULL-OFF FORCE OF THERMALLY ACTUATED GOLD CANTILEVERS
This paper focuses on revealing the size effect on the mechanical behavior (i.e. bending stiffness, Young modulus, pull-off force) of gold cantilevers with lengths ranging from 190 µm to 490 µm. We investigated the tempe...
TUBULAR THIN-WALLED ENERGY ABSORBING STRUCTURES WITH TRIGGERS – RECENT ADVANCES
In the present paper the state of art review concerning recent advances in research into crashworthiness performance and energy absorption capacity of tubular thin-walled energy absorbing structures with triggers promoti...
A NOVEL MECHANICAL MODEL FOR MAGNETIC RESONANCE ELASTOGRAPHY
Magnetic resonance elastography is a non-invasive, in vivo imaging technique used to measure the elasticity of soft tissues subject to mechanical stresses. The resulting strains are measured using MR imaging and the elas...
EXPERIMENTAL AND NUMERICAL STUDY OF LOW VELOCITY IMPACT ON SANDWICH PANELS WITH ALUMINUM FACESHEETS AND FOAM CORE
This study investigates the effect of foam core type in sandwich structures under low velocity impact. The structures consist of aluminum facesheets and polystyrene and polyurethane foam core with density of 32 kg/m3 , r...
