Candidiasis is an opportunistic infection of the oral mucosa what is covered with a denture, and caused by yeast-like fungi from the Candida strain. Therefore, there is a need to seek new treatment strategies that will produce a stable and long-lasting effect. Light-induced photodynamic therapy is used in many areas of medicine. Wide spectrum of indications makes it reasonable to try to apply it also to manage denture-related stomatitis.
