Phrasemics of Ivan Franko’s scientific works: the attempt of lexicographic elaboration

Abstract
Among important factors of the literary language development there is the contribution into its enrichment made by the creators of fiction literature. Ivan Franko occupies a very essential place in this process. Not only fiction or publicistic but also scientific heritage of Kamenyar is marked by the richness of phraseological expressions. Ivan Franko’s lexical heritage has already been the object of lexicographic interpretation but phraseological units, namely in his scientific works, were not subject to such elaboration. In the article we provide a brief review of works on this problematics and define the importance of the scientific research of the problem. Taking into account the achievements of theoretical and practical phraseology and the specificity of the object of the analysis, we consider the main principles of lexicographic processing of phraseological units in Ivan Franko’s scientific works. For this purpose we outline a source base (phraseological expressions chosen from a 50-volume collection of works) and on the basis of the definition of a phraseme as a lingual unit we define the amount of the interpretation material and hence – a registered part of the dictionary. We consider the main principles of a dictionary article construction and we also offer the ways of interpretation of registered phrasemes semantics paying attention to their correlation with this or that part of speech, the peculiarities of formal grammar structure, the contexts of their usage. We explain the place of sending and the place of lexicographic elaboration of a phraseological unit in the registered part and some peculiarities of illustrative material introduction.
