Linguistic means of expression of addresses in the Middle English romances of the 12th – 15th centuries.

Abstract
The article seeks to highlight the characteristics of the speech act of address in the Middle English romances. The analysis of romances holds that the functional class of linguistic units of address in the Middle English may be marked with different constructions. New tendencies in the functioning of appellative pronouns as a means of speech addressee-orientation expression in the Middle English are examined along with the nominal forms of address.
