The study of nomination processes in the polylingual ergonymiya of various European countries.

Abstract

The article compares the works of Ukrainian linguists from the point of view of using foreign vocabulary for naming objects of human activity in different regions of Ukraine over the past 15 years: in Transcarpathian region, in the city of Kiev, in Donetsk region. The languages of borrowing are indicated and an attempt to explain the reasons for borrowing is made. The influence of such extralinguistic factors as economic, ideological, cultural is pointed out. The interpretation of the term ergonym in modern terminological dictionaries is presented. Its use in a broad sense for objects of various types of activity is explained. The terms for the designation of classes of objects of a narrow focus are presented: firmonym is used for industrial objects, emporonym is used for trade and commercial objects, serviceonym is used for objects of service, clubonym is used for entertainment objects. Groups of ergonyms of Donetsk region, divided by their belonging to a specific language, among which there are hybrid and artificial names, are shown. Comparative analysis of Ukrainian ergonymiya with ergonymiya of Germany and Poland is based on numerous practical materials including more than 4000 titles and it is now a new aspect of the author's scientific research. The percentage ratio of the language funds of the borrowings is presented. It is noted that in view of the globalization of science, technology, economics, and culture, the involvement of foreign vocabulary in ergonomics becomes an inevitable process.
