Journal Title: Medycyna Sportowa - Year 2012, Vol 28, Issue 2
Abstract
The goal of the undertaken study was to examine and define changes in the spine mobility among students of Physical Education University in Wrocław and Zielona Góra University students, as well as to check whether the amount of time spent on physical activity may have an influence on the values of mobility ranges. The study involved two groups of students, numbering 160, aged 21-26. Group I (control group) included 80 students of the faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science and econometrics, Zielona Góra University, and group II – 80 students of the Faculty of Physical Education University in Wrocław. The study program included: the assessment of spine mobility and a set of questions concerning the definition of the amount of time spent on physical activity. The analysis of the study results have shown that there are statistically significant differences in the ranges of spine mobility between the groups of students examined. Higher values of the parameters assessed were attained by Physical Education In this study group, students allocated more of their time to physical activity.A lot of time devoted to physical activity could have a positive influence range of spine mobility in thoracic-lumbar and lumbar section among the sudents.
