PHYTOCHEMICAL INVESTIGATION OF THE ROOTS OF CALOTROPIS PROCERA (AIT.) R. BR.
Journal Title: International Research Journal of Pharmacy (IRJP) - Year 2011, Vol 2, Issue 9
Abstract
Two new phytoconstituents characterized as n-tetradecanyl n-hexadec-9-enoate (n-tetradecanyl palmitoleate) (4) and 18µH – urs– 12 – en - 3β, 25 - olide (proceraursenolide) (5) have been isolated for the first time from the roots of Calotropis procera (Ait.) R. Br. (Asclepiadaceae) along with the known compound tridecanoyl glycerol (1), 1-octadec-9′-enoyl -2,3- dihexadecanoyl glycerol (2), tridocosanoyl glycerol (3), urs-12-en-3β-olyl acetate (α-amyrin acetate) (6) and 18αH-urs-12, 20(30)-dien-3β-yl acetate (7). The structures of all these phytoconstituents have been established by spectral data analysis and chemical reactions.

PRODUCTION OF α-AMYLASE FROM ASPERGILLUS FLAVUS UNDER SOLID STATE FERMENTATION WITH OPTIMUM CONDITIONS
α-amylases are ubiquitous enzymes produced by plants, animals and microbes, where they play a dominant role in carbohydrate metabolism. In spite of the wide distribution of amylases, microbial sources, namely fungal and...
BIPOLAR DISORDER IN ADULTS
Bipolar disorder is a chronic illness, which may require life-long treatment. Patients will spend 3-5 times more days in the depressed episode then in the manic phase. Due to this variability in episodes, polypharmacy is...
HEAVY METALS IN ENVIRONMENT, LIVING SYSTEMS AND HERBAL PREPARATION: AN OVERVIEW
Heavy metals occur as a natural constituent of earth’s crust. Due to the indiscriminate human activities there is drastic change in geochemical and biochemical balance which results in accumulation of metals in plant par...
MICROENCAPSULATION: ADVANCEMENTS IN APPLICATIONS
Microcapsule is a tiny sphere including core material/internal phase or fill, coated with/surrounded by wall know as shell, coating or membrane. The usual size range of the microcapsule lies between 1 to 1000 μm. The tec...
1-(4-(4-(2-(METHYLAMINO)PYRIMIDIN-4-YL)PYRIDIN-2-YL)PHENYL)-3-SUBSTITUTED UREA DERIVATIVES BY USING SEQUENTIAL SUZUKI-MIYAURA CROSS-COUPLING REACTIONS: SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION AND ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY
In this report we describe, a new class of 1-(4-(4-(2-(methylamino)pyrimidin-4-yl)pyridin-2-yl)phenyl)-3-substituted urea derivatives (5a-g) were synthesized using Sequential Suzuki-Miyaura Cross-coupling reactions follo...
