Piles simulation on the horizontal load in computer systems

Abstract

Correct calculation of emergency (seismic) impacts requires appropriate modeling of the pile foundation work on the perception of significant horizontal forces. In this connection, in the article the questions of numerical modeling of the work of piles on the perception of horizontal loading in software complexes implementing the finite element method are considered in simplified design schemes in linear and nonlinear formulations. The reasons for the discrepancy between the theoretical conclusions and the results of field studies are analyzed. Comparison of the results of calculations by different methods with the results of full-scale tests for the behavior of the pile under a horizontal load is performed. The upper end of the pile in the horizontal plane was subjected to grading. The comparison was carried out using the SCAD OFFICE software. Based on the results of the comparison, a calculation method was proposed that showed the smallest discrepancy with full-scale observations of the movements of the upper end of the tested pile.
