Plastic properties of cold-deformed ironbased sintered materials
Journal Title: Archiwum Odlewnictwa - Year 2010, Vol 10, Issue 3
Abstract
Cold plastic forming of sintered metal powders has limited practical application because of, among others, the deformation degree and initial porosity of preforms. Cold forming is combined with a very drastic drop of plastic properties observed in final products. One of the methods that enable regaining the lost plasticity is annealing of sinters after deformation at temperatures above the recrystallisation point. The results of the investigations were presented which aimed at the determination of an effect that the annealing conditions of colddeformed sintered metal powder can have on its structure and mechanical properties. Special attention was drawn to a combined effect of the deformation degree and heat treatment temperature on final plastic properties of the sinters and on their ultimate tensile strength.

Tribological properties of AC44200 based composites strenghead with AlB2BOB3 Bparticles
The paper presents a research on abrasion resistance of aluminium-based composites consisting of EN AC-44200 matrix reinforced with AlB2BOB3B particles. The examinations revealed that wear intensity of the composites dec...
Thin Wall Austempered Ductile Iron (TWADI)
In this paper the analysis of thin walled castings made of ductile iron is considered. It is shown that thin wall austempered ductile iron can be obtained by means of short-term heat treatment of thin wall castings witho...
Influence of Blowing of Argon on the Cleanness of Steel
The mechanical properties of steel components are controlled by the chemical composition and mechanical treatment to which the steel is submitted. Non-metallic inclusions have a very high influence on the steel quality b...
The attempt at evaluation of the ADI microstructure with the use of the image analysis
In this work the attempt at quantitative evaluation of the microstructure of ADI cast iron matrix has been made. The automatic analysis of the image of the microstructure of austempered spheroidal cast iron has been used...
Life cycle assessment as a method of limitation of a negative environment impact of castings
Casting production constitutes environmental problems going far beyond the foundry plant area. Applying a notion of the life cycle the input (suppliers side) and output factors (clients side) can be identified. The found...
