Plasticity of the AlSi9Mg alloy modified with Na, F and Cl compounds
Journal Title: Archiwum Odlewnictwa - Year 2010, Vol 10, Issue 2
Abstract
This paper presents the results of an experiment investigating the structure and the percent elongation of an AlSi9Mg alloy modified with NaCl, Na3AlF6 and NaF compounds. The alloy was modified in a crucible. The experiment had a factorial design of 23. Strength tests were performed on specimens with a diameter of 8 mm collected from a 16x140 mm cylinder cast in a sand mould. The applied modifier improved the studied alloy's eutectic properties and changed its percent elongation. Percent elongation values are presented in graphic form.

Fatigue strength of MAR-M509 alloy with structure refined by rapid crystallization
This study presents test results of high-cycle (N>2⋅107) fatigue bending strength of MAR-M-509 cobalt alloy samples, as cast and after surface refining with a concentrated stream of heat. Tests were conducted on samples...
Calorimetric examination of mixtures for modification of nickel and cobalt superalloys
The study presents the results of thermodynamic calculations and calorimetric examination of thermal reactions taking place at high temperatures between the nanoparticle inoculants and metallic constituents of nickel and...
Nitrogen hardening of creep-resistant G-NiCr28W alloy
In the group of creep-resistant materials, most important are heat-resistant nickel-based alloys. The G-NiCr28W alloy subject to detailed examinations was observed to have two different austenite-like phases. In the inte...
The influence of carbon and copper on the solidification process of the ferritic-austenitic cast steel
Technological problems which occur during the production of castings made of ferritic-austenitic (duplex) cast steel have caused that this most modern material among corrosion-resistant cast steels is seldom produced in...
