Platforme IoT – Soluţii actuale şi tendinţe de evoluţie IoT Platforms – Current Solutions and Evolution Trends

Abstract
Internetul obiectelor/lucrurilor (Internet of Things – IoT) a devenit una din paradigmele definitorii ale lumii de azi, element de transformare revoluţionară, cantitativă şi calitativă, a cunoaşterii şi interacţiunii noastre cu mediul în care trăim şi lucrăm zi de zi. În ultimii ani, au fost dezvoltate numeroase soluţii de interconectare a obiectelor inteligente în sisteme cu diferite scale şi obiective. Vorbim deja despre oraşe inteligente, case inteligente, monitorizare digitală a sănătăţii, a unor procese industriale sau a poluării mediului etc. Lucrarea de faţă prezintă o trecere în revistă şi o analiză a ofertei existente de platforme IoT, precum şi a tendinţelor de evoluţie în domeniul acestora. Au fost studiate câteva soluţii IoT relevante, selectate pe baza rapoartelor şi punctelor de vedere publicate în literatura de specialitate şi pe site-urile unor companii de consultanţă sau publicaţii specializate. Au fost identificate şi selectate criterii de evaluare comparativă a platformelor IoT hardware şi software. Au fost analizate şi sunt prezentate de asemenea câteva perspective de evoluţie a platformelor IoT pe termen scurt şi mediu, atât în contextul dezvoltării tehnologiilor specifice, cât şi sub presiunea cerinţelor comunităţilor ecosistemelor IoT. The Internet of Things (IoT) became one of the defining paradigms of today’s world, element of revolutionary, quantitative and qualitative transformation of our cognition and interaction with the environment in which we are living and working day by day. In recent years, many solutions to interconnect intelligent objects in systems with various scales and objectives have been developed. We are already talking about smart cities, smart homes, digital health, various industrial processes or environment polution monitoring etc. This paper presents a review and an analysis of the existing offer of IoT platforms, as well as evolution trends in their field. Several relevant IoT solutions have been studied, selected on the basis of reports and reviews published in specialized literature or on web sites of some specialized consulting companies or publications. Comparative evaluation criteria for IoT hardware and software platforms have been identified and selected. Also, some trends and perspectives on the short and medium term evolution of IoT platforms have been analyzed and are presented, both in the context of the developments of specific technologies and under the pressure of the requirements of the IoT ecosystems communities.
