POETONYMS AS PHRASEMIC COMPONENTS IN ARTISTIC DISCOURSE OF MARIA MATIOS

Abstract
The object of research is poetonymic components of idioms in prose by Maria Matios. The subject of the direct study is stylistic functioning of poetonyms as components of idioms and as its constituents of M. Matios idiostyle.The purpose of research is the description of specifics of stylistic functioning of poetonymic constituents of idioms in the artistical discourse of Maria Matios. The implementation of this goal implies resolving of the following tasks: to define poetonyms which are components of idioms found in the works by M. Matios; to analyze the structural and semantic transformation of phraseology poetonymic components; to identify their functional and stylistic potential.Methodology. The study used the complex technique that involves the use of linguistic methods, among which are the contextually-interpretative method of stylistic analysis, quantitative and statistical techniques and methods of component and etymological analysis and descriptive method. Practical value. These methods allow describing content and structure poetonyms comprehensively and to analyze poetomymic space of Maria Matios works. Findings. The article investigates the specifics of functioning of poetonymic phrasemes in the prose by Maria Matios. The article implements classification of structural-semantic transformations of phraseological units with poetonymic component and reveals their functional and stylistic potential. The article reveals the role of poetonymic component of the writer’s idiostyle. Results. The striking figurative-expressive means of the author’s style is phraseologisms with poetonymic component used by the writer, they usually and occasionally imply structural and semantic transformation of idioms. Some modifications of phraseology are aesthetically motivated and increase the expressiveness of the context. Proper names which are components of stale language expressions perform, besides expressive, also emotive and controversial features.
