Abstract
Powszechnie używana w protetyce stomatologicznej ceramika cyrkonowa posiada zalety estetyczne, które trudno przeceniać, ale posiada również wady, które jeśli wystąpią, często dyskwalifikują stałe uzupełnienie protetyczne wykonane z tego materiału. W niniejszej publikacji poruszono tematy związane z syntezą, polimorfizmem i degradacją tlenku cyrkonu mogące stanowić pomoc w zrozumieniu zjawisk fizykochemicznych zachodzących na poziomie cząsteczkowym, a mających istotne implikacje w praktyce klinicznej.
