POLISH NATIONAL PROGRAMME „ASSESSMENT OF FORMATIONS AND STRUCTURES FOR SAFE CO[sub]2[/sub] GEOLOGICAL STORAGE, INCLUDING MONITORING PLANS”

Abstract
The National Programme “Assessment of formations and structures for safe CO2 geological storage, including monitoring plans”, ordered by Ministry of Environment, is carried out by consortium consisting of PGI–NRI, AGH UST, CMI, OGI, MEERI PAS and PBG. The strategic goal of the national programme, covering practically the whole territory of Poland and the Baltic economic zone is to deliver to the Ministry information necessary for permitting decisions after requirements of the relevant EU directive. To this moment works on the assessment of geological formations and structures in Be³chatów area and for a selected structure detailed assessment has been completed. Simultaneously similar works for the area of southern part of SCB have been carried out and works for other areas of the country are being launched.
