Journal Title: Textos en Proceso - Year 2017, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
This work is an annotated and updated version of an original version of the year 2000. This is a study carried out on the corpus of conversations of a controversial nature in the Argentinian academic field. The objective is to analyze the material from a perspective that relates image activities to the identity of participants’ roles and socio-cultural contexts. Given the issues involved, the level of conflict assessed is taken into account as a parameter for interpretation. Another element that stands out is the consideration of the socio-cultural premises of the analyst or what this supposes that the participants share in the current event. The results reveal, in the first case, a conversation between academics, the permanence of a particular configuration of the image of the role of the humanities academic and, in the second, a meeting between Swedish and Spanish students, the influence of situational roles in This case of host / ae invited in the treatment of the subjects.
