Polityczne i kulturowe aspekty szehity w Polsce

Abstract
The article present the problem of cultural and religious security, of Jewish community in Poland, described by the prism of kashrut's (kosher kitchen) tradition which is fundamental for Jewry and for which particular is shehita (religious/ritual slaughter). In the text was described how important is the religious tradition in the formation of social relations, religious con-texts of shehita, was discussed the place of shehita in religious literature and comments. Later, in the article the auctor shows in diachronic perpective the history of shehita in Poland on the background of Polish legislation and multicultural relations. The last part of this article applies to the present day after political transformations of 1989, taking into account the constitutional legality and compatibility of religious slaughter of animals.
