Abstract
The article investigates the significance, the essence of the law and the legal and regulatory framework for the implementation of this principle and its consistent observance in Ukraine. The scientific approaches to understanding the essence of control and supervision in various spheres of legal relationships are analyzed and generalized, and the characteristic differences between these concepts are revealed. The essence of the concepts of supervision over observance of legality by the investigating units of law enforcement bodies of Ukraine and control over observance of legality by investigating units of law enforcement bodies of Ukraine is determined.
