Abstract
Currently, one of the priority innovative technologies implemented in the continuous education system is the use of the possibilities of the virtual educational environment in the modern training system. In this article, the opportunities and shortcomings of distance education in the development of informational competence of teachers in the field of virtual technologies are discussed in detail.
