POSSIBLE DIFFERENCE IN THE FORMATION OF CORONAL MASS EJECTIONS OF TWO TYPES
Journal Title: Solar-Terrestrial Physics - Year 2022, Vol 8, Issue 2
Abstract
Analysis of seven near-limb coronal mass ejections (CMEs) has shown that at distances R<1.4R from the center of the Sun CMEs according to their formation can be divided into two types: type 1 CMEs and type 2 CMEs. In the case of type 1 CMEs, the frontal structure (FS) is formed by processes occurring in FS itself, which is the outer shell of the magnetic flux rope. As for type 2 CMEs, EP-CME, internal arched structures erupt, explosively expand, capture and accelerate the more distant arched structures, which merge to form the frontal structure of the type 2 CMEs.

METEOR TRAIL DRIFT RESEARCH BASED ON BASELINE OBSERVATIONS
We analyze the results of a rare long-lived quasisymmetric ellipsoidal-annular meteor trail recorded on November 18, 2017 by two optical all-sky cameras, spaced at a distance of 150 km. The analysis is based on astrometr...
DATABASE OF GEOMAGNETIC OBSERVATIONS IN RUSSIAN ARCTIC AND ITS APPLICATION FOR ESTIMATES OF THE SPACE WEATHER IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGICAL SYSTEMS
An archive of digital 1-min data from Soviet/Russian Arctic magnetic stations has been created, starting from 1983 to the present. The archive includes data from stations deployed along the Arctic coast by various USSR/R...
COMPARING METHODS TO ESTIMATE CLOUD COVER OVER THE BAIKAL NATURAL TERRITORY IN DECEMBER 2020
The paper addresses the issue of how much cloud cover data obtained using satellite and model-interpolation techniques are suitable for monitoring the transparency of the atmosphere and determining conditions for airglow...
SECOND-ORDER PERTURBATIONS IN ALFVÉN WAVES IN FINITE PRESSURE PLASMA
It is shown first that in finite pressure plasma, just as in cold plasma, Alfvén waves created by an initial perturbation generate plasma flows and decreases in the magnetic field, which propagate along with these waves....
ELECTROMAGNETIC ULF/ELF OSCILLATIONS CAUSED BY THE ERUPTION OF THE TONGA VOLCANO
The eruption of the Tonga volcano on January 13 and 15, 2022 and related intense lightning activity led to the excitation of a number of specific electromagnetic oscillations in different frequency ranges. We examine pro...
