Journal Title: Zeszyty Naukowe Wyższej Szkoły Bankowej w Poznaniu - Year 2015, Vol 64, Issue 7
Abstract
The changes in social, economic, and legal conditions, as well as,the new possibilities within the scope of communication and information exchange result in a postal service market that is subject to a higher pressure and is facing structural transformations. The traditional role of the postal operator undergoes transformation, the volume of traditional correspondence in the letter mail segment decreases, and the mail volume of the KEP group increases. This phenomenon is in direct connection with the e-substitution of traditional postal services due to the revolution in communication through the e-commerce and e-service market development. The new situation results in that the post operators diversify the service portfolio, allocating themselves in the market segment of the new technologies like KEP and TSL, thus developing dynamically. The purpose of the considerations touched on in the paper is to indicate the convergence of areas between the processes in the network Information and Communication Technology environment of the contemporary economy, and the direction of the changes in the services provided, through the example of Poczta Polska S.A.
