Abstract
The article presents the attitude of the priests in the region of Suwalki against communist ideology in times of the development of the socialist state. The whole range of operational activities taken by the Communists against the clergy was presented both on the level of local administration and district and provincial police. Frequently included quotations from priests, written by snitches are the testimony of the attitudes of the clergy. They constituted kind of political guideline for the parishioners, but also a reminder of principals of faith. Today, after years looking from the perspective of regained freedom this intransigence and inflexibility of the clergy in those dark times, inspires respect and recognition
