Practical Implementation and Performance Analysis of Improved-DSR Protocol using ZigBee in Wireless Sensor Network
Journal Title: International Journal of Electronics Communication and Computer Technology - Year 2015, Vol 5, Issue 4
Abstract
Wireless sensor networks are self-configuring network of mobile and static nodes connected by wireless link. The communication in WSN is uncertain because established route can be broken anytime. A lot of delay occurs between active route breakage and new route discovery, causing the loss of data packets. In our proposed algorithm (Improved-DSR), we minimize the probability of breaking of current route. Proposed algorithm makes use of one level of threshold on received signal strength for each node at the time of route formation to enhance the reliability of discovered route. Secondly, Power alert messages broadcasted by nodes going in power drain out condition helps in route maintenance. Another good point is that the work is performed practically using XBEE S2 modules and MATLAB is used as interfacing software and the performance of proposed algorithm is analyzed in terms of throughput, route discovery time and algorithm complexity. A close analysis of proposed algorithm proves that it discover the route with best RSS hops.

Generating Different Mobility Scenarios in Ad Hoc Networks
The purpose of mobility models is to describe typical terminal movement so that the analysis for these purposes can be made. Thus, the movement pattern of users plays an important role in performance analysis of mobi...
SNR Improvement of MST Radar Signals Usings Combinational Window Functions
In this paper the effect of window shape parameter ‘?’ in Combinational window functions on the signal to noise ratio (SNR) values of the Indian Mesosphere-StratosphereTroposphere (MST) radar is computed. The six parts...
Knowledge Transfer of Experienced Exploratory Testers in Real Operational Setting
Test combinations executed by exploratory testers are of utmost importance towards error detection and cannot be designed by test case based or scripted techniques. Tests are designed and executed at the same time, a...
Dynamic Binding to Web Services Pre-Cached on a LAN
Web services are being increasingly exploited in software development. Their advantages, for example, platform independence, would be enhanced if they could be bound to dynamically at run time. However, existing methods...
