Precocious Puberty in Children; An overview
Journal Title: International Journal of Medical Research Professionals - Year 2017, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
Puberty is the process of physical maturation manifested by an increase in growth rate, and the appearance of secondary sexual characteristics. The diagnosis is made with the help of a careful history and physical examination in conjunction with the use of appropriate radiologic and laboratory evaluation. GnRH stimulation is the gold standard for diagnosis. In this review, we highlight the definition of precocious puberty, pathophysiology, aetiology and management of the disorder.
