Predicting changes in the real estate market with the use of Google Trends

Abstract
Investment decisions are preceded by a range of activities related to obtaining and verification of information. The following study aims to explore the usefulness of the Google search engine data in predicting real estate markets. These data may prove to be an additional source of information for investors if they contain traces of search information in the period before making an investment decision. The analysis is an important addition to the existing literature exploring the role of behavioral factors in the decision making process. The results of this study may shed new light on the behavior of markets and investors.
