Preparation processes of KNN lead-free piezoelectric ceramics

Abstract

Lead zirconium titanate (PZT) ceramics and PZT-based ternary-component ferroelectrics are high-performance piezoelectric materials, which are widely used in sensors, actuators and other electronic devices. From the viewpoint of environmental protection, it is desired to develop lead-free substitutes. (K, Na)NbO3 (KNN) based ceramics, a kind of lead-free piezoelectric materials, is one of the best candidates for PZT due to its high Curie temperature point and excellent piezoelectric properties. This paper summarized the new methods for fabricating KNN-based lead-free piezoelectric ceramics, including doping method, powder synthesis, template grain growth, sintering method, and so on.
