Study on the lignins of Michelia szechuanica

Abstract
Four compounds are isolated from the flowers of Michelia szechuanica by chromatography on silica gel. On the basis of NMR spectral data, their structures are identified as lignins like l-sesamin, horsfieldin, 3`,4`-Methylenedioxy-3,4-Dimethoxy-Parallelism tetrahydrofuran diphenyl tetrahydrofuran, 3,4,3`,4`-Tetrametho-xyl-Parallelism tetrahydrofuran diphenyl tetrahydrofuran. All the compounds are isolated from this plant for the first time.
