Present and potential security threats posed to civil aviation
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2012, Vol 4, Issue 2
Abstract
Aircraft presents ideal object for terrorist attack. Apart from the risks posed by possible terrorist attacks on airborne aircraft, air terrorism includes the threats to general aviation on the ground, including airports and surrounding infrastructure. Air oriented terrorism in all of its forms can undermine public confidence in the safety of air travel, which could result in negative effects for certain airlines and other firms in aviation industry due to decline in passenger travel and cargo shipment. This article is giving an overview about the redoubtable present and potential future threats posed to in-flight security, and possibilities and solutions how to mitigate the risks on acceptable level.

The Evaluation of the Boundary Vorticity by URANS and LES Methods
The role of concentrated vorticity in fluid dynamics phenomena, concerning both the vorticity creation at the boundary and the response to the flow field is not wholly understood. The Lighthill describes the vorticity pr...
Dichotomic Structure of DAEs Solutions for the Aircraft Control
The paper has its roots in earlier studies focused on DAEs solutions, for the aircraft flight control and intends to be a synthesis of them. The main goal is to structure the solution for the control laws so as to derive...
The configuration management requirements for aviation, space and defense organizations
Certification of the quality management system for aviation, space and defense organizations, according to EN 9100: 2016 / AS 9100D standard requires compliance with the configuration management requirements. This articl...
A Mathematical and Numerical Model for the Analysis of Hybrid Rocket Motors
The hybrid rocket motors (HRM) use a two-phase propellant system. This offers some remarkable advantages but also arises some difficulties like the neutralization of their instabilities. The non-acoustic combustion insta...
Drop dispensing in a viscous outer liquid
The formation and detachment of Newtonian drops in viscous external liquids is investigated. A global analysis of two necking processes is presented in order to highlight the behavior of such thinning phenomena, when con...
