Prevention and treatment of oxidative stress injury of vitiligo based on the TCM theory of “preventive treatment of disease”

Journal Title: Journal of Air Force Medical University - Year 2023, Vol 44, Issue 8

Abstract

The TCM theory of “preventive treatment of disease” can play a role in the prevention and treatment of many diseases. We found that the three states in the TCM theory of “preventive treatment of disease”, namely healthy but not ill, sick but not ill, and ill but not transmitted, were consistent with the three levels of oxidative stress, namely normal level, sub-health level and pathogenic level, suggesting that if drug treatment is given at the sub-health level of oxidative stress, the occurrence of oxidative stress-related diseases can be reduced. We discuss the prevention and treatment of oxidative stress injury of vitiligo based on the TCM theory of “preventive treatment of disease”, and apply the TCM theory of “preventive treatment of disease” to prevent and treat oxidative stress injury of vitiligo, which provides a new method for the in-depth study of the theory of “ preventive treatment of disease” and a new idea for the early prevention and effective treatment of oxidative stress-related diseases such as vitiligo in clinical practice.
