Abstract
The article deals with the problem issues of the essence of preventive police measures in Ukraine, their practical use and use by the police for the purpose of prevention, prevention and suppression of offenses, as well as the issues of police custody and police coercive measures, their role in ensuring the proper state of public security and order in the state The article defines the author's definition of preventive police measures and preventive police records, as well as proposes making some changes to the current legislation of Ukraine.
