Primary Tubercular Myositis

Abstract

A 41 yr male presented with left lower back swelling and discomfort in the right thigh since 2 months. There was no history of fever, weight loss, anorexia or any other pulmonary complaints. There was no history of trauma, intra-muscular injection at the local site or tuberculosis (TB) contact. Examination revealed a cystic 7 cm x 5 cm swelling in the left lower back with ill defined swelling over anteromedial aspect of right thigh. Swelling was well separated from the underlying bone. The skin over it was normal with no sinuses & scars. There was no limitation of motion in the ipsilateral hip or knee joint. No neurovascular changes were noted.
